Lower Bathroom Renovation Complete

Today, I’m SO excited to share with you our newly renovated downstairs bathroom!

Here’s a refresher of what it looked like before – WOW has it come a long way!

Everything (with the exception of the round mirror) came from Home Depot – I love the custom look that you can get by combining off the shelf items and DIY projects!

We decided repurpose our existing vanity – take off the partial overlay doors and drawers and replace with DIY full overlay doors and drawers. We removed the toe kick and added feet. Painted it white and added sleek pulls.

For the countertop, we made our own mold (measured twice!) out of melamine MDF – poured Sakrete and let it sit for 4 days until removing the mold.

We left a hole in the center for a semi recessed sink and our gorgeous new Anzzi faucet! I love the modern lines and it’s super heavy, sturdy and well made.

I wanted a darker tile floor and chose a concrete look tile with a vintage look. I love the pattern that it adds to the space.

After removing the tile – we added backer board to the floor – this helps give a sturdy surface.

We also reconfigured the electrical so that the sconces would flank the mirror and more the outlet next to the switches on the wall.
The outlet used to be on the back wall (covered by the mirror in the before photo) SUCH a difference having it within reach!
We finished the walls off with a classic subway tile – LOVE!
The sconces were an affordable option – I love the diffused light that they put off.
faucet / sconces / hardware / sink / subway tile / mirror / floor tile

Thanks so much to Home Depot for providing the gorgeous Anzzi faucet and a gift card to cover part of the renovation costs – as always, I only share companies and products that I love and have had a great experience with!

Yes! It's from CB2 – love the scale! RH also has an even larger scale (though it is a lot more $!)

I cannot get over how much I love that floor tile! It's fabulous! Great combo of the floor and wall tile – the really dark grout with the subway tile is very sharp. Absolutely love this bathroom.

I cannot tell you how much i want to rip the crappy face frames off of all of our cabinets and do full overlay doors, but i'd have no idea where to start! I need a visual or a walk thru. I'd love if if you did a tutorial!
