Black and White Stripe Chair

We finally finished one of our upholstered chairs. I have three more in process, yikes! Seriously reconsidering that now 🙂

You might remember this beauty that I shared way back in October. I picked it up from Goodwill for only $9.99!

I’ve been slowly working on it and David helped me finish (mainly to prevent me from throwing it out the window). Yep, this chair wasn’t the easiest for me .. I’ll share a little about our process, but mainly what to do and what NOT to do tomorrow.

First, here’s a few pictures!

I’ll be back tomorrow!! 🙂

Gorgeous! I can't wait to read tomorrow's post. I've reupholstered standard dining chairs before, but nothing with an upholstered back. I've been seeing the coolest chairs at the Habitat ReStore recently, but I'm too nervous to attempt making them over. This is super inspiring.

Oh, Sarah, you know I love this one! I'm glad you didn't throw in the towel! I have a similar love seat on "the list" and so I'm anxious to read your tips!

Your upholstery skills are amazing. Are you self-taught or did you learn somewhere?? Stripes are so ambitious! Really cool. 🙂

It looks like you paid big bucks for that chair… Not $9! Amazing! I need to tackle my first re-upholstery project but am so nervous that I'll mess it up and give up half way through. Any suggestions on an easy project to start with??

Hi Lo! I'd definitely start by reupholstering a dining chair with a simple square seat – one that you can remove the seat, pull the fabric tight, staple and then reattach 🙂

I absolutely love your pop of citron! I loved it in your last house, too. It was on the chair, right?) Have you shared the paint color before? I have a pair of dark jade chairs in my living room, and for the last year I've been wanting to add in more of this citron/pale chartreuse color. Thanks for all the great inspiration!!!

Thanks Elaine! 🙂 The canning chair from our last place was annie sloan chalk paint mixed with benjamin moore citron and the tray is rustoleum lemon grass (a nice greenish yellow)
