Habitat for Humanity Restore Finds

Over the weekend while we were driving I spotted a Habitat for Humanity Restore and I that it sounded like the perfect store for me … a home improvement thrift store, perfect! Am I the only one who is just discovering this?

so I thought I would share a few of my favorite recent finds

From Habitat for Humanity Restore a solid wood cabinet door (almost as tall as me) $5. I’m not sure how I will use it … maybe shelves, maybe a table top, maybe to build something to store my printers and paper. But I do know that I LOVE it and the wood to build that would easily coast three times what I paid.

I picked up this cute little dresser from Goodwill for $8 … it has a really bad paint job, once refinished I might use it in the guest room … or sell it

and this little lamp is also from Goodwill $3.25, I actually saw someone walking around the store and thought, I want that … I later found the same one at another Goodwill, weird… I am thinking of painting it off white, but didn’t want to paint the milk glass, thoughts?

No afters yet … but hopefully you see the same potential I did!

Oooooh, that LAMP! You absolutely must preserve that gorgeous milk glass. I'd just use some painter's tape (I know you are familiar with that, ha!) and maybe some plastic to cover it well, and then hit it with some spray paint. Black? Gold? Apricot? Kelly green? So many fun possibilities!

I was considering white … but I think I will probably choose a color 🙂

I just saw this yesterday at my local Goodwill for $10. Wasn't sure how I could restore it so I didn't pick it up even though I collect milk glass. I'm heading back over for it today!

I love the lamp! I definitely agree about not painting the milk glass, but I think a subdued colour would be really pretty for the rest of it. Like maybe a minty green or a pale pink? Can't wait to see what you do!

Milk glass is always so classy, regardless of what's surrounding it. Isn't it? 🙂

If I were you, I'd paint the brown piece white (or super, super light gray) and just polish the brass sections. It will be a great addition to any room in your house.

Nothing puts a smile on my face like a successful trip to Goodwill. We have a Restore store but haven't made it there yet. Looks like I need to check it out!

The milk glass is beautiful! I can see the rest of it painted in a fun, bright color- that would look amazing 🙂

Super cute lamp. You could take it in loads of directions – bright yellow, turquoise, red? Leave the milk glass though – so pretty.

Did you end up selling the dresser or keeping it? I saw in another post how awesome it turned out! Erica

It's currently in my closet, I'll be selling it before we move in the summer though!
