National Make Your Bed Week

It’s National Make Your Bed Week – so, it’s the perfect time to show you my current bedding!

While we finish the floors and painting in our bedroom – we’re staying in a smaller (unfinished) bedroom.

While we refinish the floors and paint – our house is a mess.. Since we both work full time, we’re working just on the weekend – it’s taking a while, but we are in the home stretch! But, you know what does help? Making my bed! That small feeling of accomplishment is the perfect kickstart to the day!

I’m obsessed with my Crane & Canopy duvet cover! (I’ve sung their praises here before) I have the Linden Border in Grey. It’s super soft, well made and I love that it has a hidden zipper enclosure instead of buttons. The prices are also super reasonable and I love that part of their proceeds go towards, “A Safe Night’s Sleep,” which benefits women and children affected by domestic violence.

My favorite way to make a bed is to fold the duvet half way down at the end of the bed – with the opening at the bottom – that way it’s super easy to fold it up at night and fold it down in the morning.

I’m also loving my new pillows from Motif Pillows – Schumacher Chenonceau is perfection and I love the intensity of the color and pattern of the David Hicks. The quality and the attention to detail is so so good at Motif Pillows!! Designer fabrics are pricey per yard, so bringing a pillow in is the perfect punch, without spending a fortune.

Recently, I’ve been loving pops of jewel tones with neutrals. I’m thinking pops of more saturated colors will be the color direction for our house.
